About Marina
My own experiences have shaped my curiosity about people and relationships, and about what happens when we start paying attention to what we feel, want and need.
I came to counselling after a career in professional services, and went on to train as a counsellor at Re-Vision in London.
Having worked for many years in demanding, high-responsibility environments, I know what it can be like to keep functioning and getting things done while the impact on your wellbeing is less easy to notice.
I have also lived in three different countries and across different cultures and have navigated leaving familiar surroundings behind, adapting to new environments and searching for a sense of belonging. These experiences have lead to my interest in identity, cross-cultural relationships and the different ways we understand ourselves and our place in the world.
My training and professional practice
My training is integrative and transpersonal, and my work is also informed by psychodynamic, person-centred and embodied perspectives. My background in yoga has given me a deep interest in the relationship between mind and body and in aspects of our experience that can be harder to put into words.
I welcome clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, genders, sexualities and life experiences, and I offer therapy in both English and Russian.
I am registered with UKCP and BACP, work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, and remain committed to ongoing learning and development as a therapist.
Therapy in English and Russian
I offer therapy in both English and Russian.
For some people, being able to speak in their first language can make it easier to express experiences, feelings or parts of themselves that can be difficult to translate. For others, moving between languages can itself be meaningful, particularly when questions of identity, belonging or living between cultures are part of what brings them to therapy.
