What We Can Explore

When the ways you've learned to cope no longer feel enough

You may have become very good at managing life and dealing with things on your own. Perhaps the ways you have learned to manage challenging circumstances have worked well for you for a long time, but something has changed and you are finding yourself struggling in a way you haven't before.

You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, experiencing low self-esteem, grief or difficulties in your relationships. You may feel disconnected from yourself, stressed or low in mood, or notice that familiar ways of dealing with things are no longer working as well as they once did.

You may not know exactly what is going on, but have a sense that something isn't quite right. You may want to understand your experience and what your difficult feelings might be telling you about what you need.

Who I Work With

I often work with people who are thoughtful and capable, and have learned to rely on themselves and keep things going.

You may be considering therapy because something in your life is changing or asking for attention, or because the ways you have relied on to keep going are no longer working as they once did.

How I Work

Understanding rather than simply fixing

Together, we can explore the patterns, feelings and parts of yourself that may have been set aside in order to cope, including experiences that can be harder to put into words.

I will bring my perspective and may gently challenge you when something feels important to explore. At the same time, you set the pace of the work.

About Marina

Professional training, lived experience and curiosity shape the way I work

Therapy in English and Russian

I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor registered with UKCP and BACP. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in professional services, so I know something of the pressures of demanding, high-responsibility work.

My background in yoga and my experience of living in different countries and cultures have also shaped the way I work, including my interest in the relationship between mind and body, identity and belonging.

For some people, being able to speak in their first language can make it easier to express experiences or feelings that are difficult to translate. I offer sessions in either English or Russian.
